10 Tips to Successful Listings on Vendors Directory

1. Understand the difference between free and paid listing
If you’ve opted for the free listing, understand that your listing may show below a business that has paid to be "premium" or "showcase". A free listing contains no description of the company making difficult for prospects to review it. and has fewer “call to action” buttons.

2. Verify your business is properly categorized
This coding often determines whether you show up if a client searches by a business type such as “3PL”, “warehouse” and so on. Many services have predefined category lists. If you’re not sure which category to use, see how your competitors are classified. if you are on premium level, you can list up to 3 categories. Showcase level gives you up to 5 categories.

3. Look for spelling errors in your company profile
This is particularly important if your name is a plural or includes a word that can be spelled multiple ways such as “logistic” vs. “logistics”. In some cases, this misspelling may prevent you from showing if the prospect typed your name correctly.

4. Have you moved recently?
Many vendors forget to update their address or phone number and this presents problems for new customers as they will get incorrect directions to your business. Make sure to check that your address is properly written with the right floor and zip for example. Check again that you have the right phone number and website.

5. Make sure to complete the listing
Nothing frustrates your prospect more than seeing "n/a" or incomplete fields in the company listing. Even worse, your competitors probably have filled out the listing completely and when compared to them, you can only imagine. Take advantage of the space your listing offers but don't make it too long! Use bullets points to make your content more readable.

6. Add relevant and visually attractive photos
The best listings are the ones that offer a good balance of text and nice visuals. Please carefully select photos that illustrate well your operations, team and capability. Choose photos that are relevant to your regional or country operations. Each photo size must be 300x200 pixels (horizontal x vertical).

7. Link your company listing to other branches
Vendorsdirectory gives you the ability to link your profile to other branches in other cities or countries. But before you do so, make sure that the other branches are already entered in the site like as free listings. If not, this function will not work properly.

8. Take advantage of the badges
Some included fields for documents that you can attach, badges of affiliations or membership, photos and languages spoken. This doesn’t mean the user can search for your business by these fields, but they can make you stand out.

9. If you have more than one service, solution or expertise, list them!
Your potential customer wants to know that you can support their needs in different capacities which reduces the number of vendors they need to work with. Go to the "Services & Solutions" section to see how other vendors promote their offering, click on http://www.vendorsdirectory.com/servicesolution/

10. Take advantage of the 'What's New" section
In addition of listing each individual offering that you company provides, you can announce your latest services, solutions, routes, warehouses when they are launched into the market. Check out the "What's New" section at http://www.vendorsdirectory.com/release/
