No, not at all. We have hundreds business listings on the site. Providers and vendors can pay to upgrade their listing to show more information about their services, adding things like photos, video and special offers, but these are clearly marked. We don't charge businesses to have a basic listing with us thereby maximizing access for our users to as many choices as possible.
Yes, registration to Vendors Directory is totally free enabling you to search, save favorites and send to Facebook. Businesses pay to upgrade their listing, this, along with some adverting on the site, makes it 100% free to search, which is handy.
The Council is Asia's leading professional organization focused on operations, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement and logistics which is also an active publisher and content provider. Visit www.supplychains.com for more information.
Vendors, service providers, consultants alike add themselves to the directory through the ‘List/Advertise’ section found on the navigation bar. If your business was not added by yourself or another person in your company, it may have come from the collection of information:
- from the print edition of the Supply Chain & Logistics Directory
- from the Global Supply Chain Council database
- already publicly available elsewhere on the internet.
This is a question we get asked often. Our response is simple:
- there is no control on what is indexed in Google, your page might not be indexed
- there is no control over what information from the page is shown in the search results
- there is no or little control on what keywords you are found on
- there is no control over how many pages are indexed in Google
- if you are indexed, you are fighting for first place with the rest of your industry, and maybe even the rest of your country or worse yet, the rest of the world
- if you’re a small or start-up business, you’ll be disadvantaged because your results in Google also depend on things like how many websites link to yours
- how many times have you clicked on Google results and found they’re not relevant to your local search?
We create the pages so that Google can be used as an additional entry into the business listings. Not only can potential buyers find your listings on Vendors Directory, but also in Google and other search engines. Have a look at our marketing diagram to see how Google comes into play at http://vendorsdirectory.com/content/traffic
Ordinary search engines will pick up on the pages, and we will also randomly publish and display your company and service listings to Google ads and LinkedIn, to drive traffic to the site. For more information on the how we get traffic, click on http://vendorsdirectory.com/content/traffic
It is very simple to get a listing in our directory: just click on http://www.vendorsdirectory.com/advertise.php and it will be done in no time. Where possible, try to think the way your customers do - which category would they look for? To get an overview of the business categories, see the browse page, or just select a main category when compiling your listing to see the subcategories. If you believe there are no categories suitable for your listing, please contact us. Don’t forget, you don’t have to use the same category for everything – you can list your business under one category but use different categories for individual services and solutions, where appropriate.
Keywords have two roles: to help people find your listing, and to help us suggest categories for you to list under. It’s best to enter a range of different words that relate to your service or business, to reflect the variety of words people might search for. When you’re entering keywords, write one keyword per line. You can use single words, or phrases such as lean consulting.
The quality of your listing is very important – not just spelling and grammar, but well written content that is informative and explains the benefits and features of your services and solutions. We can put you in touch with copywriters and editors who can compile a complete listing for you. They charge a fee depending on time spent, which is agreed between you and them. If you just want a bit of general advice while adding your listing, contact us and we’ll do our best to help you out.
In general we will try to review every listing, to check there’s nothing inappropriate and to look for obvious spelling errors. However, we can’t check the accuracy of service or business descriptions, and are not liable for the content contained within listings.

The Vendors Directory database is constantly growing, and on a daily basis. It is possible that a few specific services or company types are not represented. If that is the case, please notify us and a directory assistant will be happy to add that industry to our search engine. Once a new service is added, it is usually populated by new companies in that specific industry the same day or the next.
