Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If you are having problems with using the site or have any questions about our services you can always get in touch with us by using our contact form. However to speed things up for you (we sometimes take the weekend off) we have answered the most popular questions in our FAQ section here.

How does Vendors Directory work?

Vendors Directory is a business directory which helps you find the best local providers, vendors, consultants and experts for your operation’s needs.

Who is the Global Supply Chain Council and how are they involved?

The Council is Asia's leading professional organization focused on operations, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement and logistics which is also an active publisher and content provider. Visit www.gscc.co for more information.

Who is eligible to participate in Vendors Directory?

The Vendors Directory is open to any company that provide services, expertise, solutions or software in the field of operations, supply chain, manufacturing, procurement or logistics.

Is it only vendors who pay that are on Vendors Directory?

No, not at all. We have hundreds business listings on the site. Providers and vendors can pay to upgrade their listing to show more information about their services, adding things like photos, video and special offers, but these are clearly marked. We don't charge businesses to have a basic listing with us thereby maximizing access for our users to as many choices as possible.

How did my company get here?

Vendors, service providers, consultants alike add themselves to the directory through the ‘Add Listing’ page found on the navigation bar. If your business was not added by yourself or another person in your company, it may have come from the collection of information via our database or already publicly available elsewhere on the internet.

Why would anyone want to pay to be in Vendors Directory when Google is free?

This is a question we get asked often. Our response is simple:
- there is no control on what is indexed in Google, your page might not be indexed
- there is no control over what information from the page is shown in the search results
- there is no or little control on what keywords you are found on
- there is no control over how many pages are indexed in Google
- if you are indexed, you are fighting for first place with the rest of your industry, and maybe even the rest of your country or worse yet, the rest of the world
- if you’re a small or start-up business, you’ll be disadvantaged because your results in Google also depend on things like how many websites link to yours
We create the pages so that Google can be used as an additional entry into the business listings. Not only can potential buyers find your listings on Vendors Directory, but also in Google and other search engines. Have a look at our marketing diagram to see how Google comes into play here.

How will my listing be promoted?

Ordinary search engines will pick up on the pages, and we will also randomly publish and display your company and service listings to Google ads and LinkedIn, to drive traffic to the site. For more information on the how we get traffic, click here

I want my company to be listed in your Vendors Directory. What do I need to do?

It is very simple to get a listing in our directory: just click on ‘Add Listing’ and it will be done in no time. We usually approve companies within 48 hours after we have received the payment. Vendors Directory accepts all major credit cards through the secure PayPal payment system.

How do I decide which categories to list under?

Where possible, try to think the way your customers do - which category would they look for? To get an overview of the business categories, see the browse page, or just select a main category when compiling your listing to see the subcategories. If you believe there are no categories suitable for your listing, please contact us. Don’t forget, you don’t have to use the same category for everything - you can list your business under one category but use different categories for individual services and solutions, where appropriate.
